Jacobo roa
2026 New works
Even from a distance, the paintings of Jacobo Roa dominate a room—expressive, vivacious, even raucous colors pulling the eye in; up close, shapes slowly emerge into a world of mysterious forms where creatures, glyphs, fantastical animals, and expressive brushstrokes invite imagination and curiosity. His major works include large-scale murals in Mexico City’s Warner Music Building and the port of Progreso, as well as his celebrated two-story ‘Catrina’ in Mérida, later shown in reproduction at the 2025 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Roa’s works are celebratory and playful, drawing on , cultural memory, and vibrant tradition to create compositions that feel both ancient and alive.
