Although Malcolm Liepke uses classical skills of
drawing and painting, his art is still very much part of our time.
His Paintings celebrate the human existence and explore the emotional
fabric that surrounds all of our lives.
Liepke studied at the Art Center College in Los Angeles, however,
his unique talents blossomed when he moved to New York. Close to some
of the greatest museums in the country, he was able to see, at first hand,
artists such as Velasquez, Whistler, Degas and others. From them, he
learnt the color and compositional techniques that make his work so expressive.
Since 1990, Liepke has been experimenting with original lithography.
Working on the same Voirin lithographic presses so beloved by
Toulouse Lautrec, he has revitalized a technique by bringing his sensitive
approach to this medium. Liepke hand draws each plate.
Liepke's work has been widely shown and has been exhibited in
The National Academy of Design, The American Watercolor Society and
the Pastel Society of America.
His art has also graced the covers of Time, Newsweek, Forbes, and Fortune.
He has received many awards and accolades that reflect his
growing stature as an artist of major significance in the USA.
